Why the Support is Provided?
To provide a tax incentive to employers to encourage employment of the long term unemployed
What Support is Provided?
A rebate of pay-roll tax is available to employers participating in the Community Jobs Plan who engage long-term unemployed persons.
The Following Eligibility Criteria Apply:
Wages are eligible for rebate if earned by employees who:
• are Queensland residents aged over 15 years;
• were unemployed for at least 12 months;
• are at risk of experiencing long term unemployment.
Important Information:
The Office of State Revenue must receive rebate claims within 6 months after the end of the financial year in which the qualifying employee’s 3 to 6 months of full-time employment ends.
For the claim to be considered, all pay-roll tax for the relevant year must first be paid.
Employers must keep wage records for 5 years.

No fees apply for this rebate.
