Alchemia Ltd Alchemia (ASX:ACL) is a drug discovery and development company with core capability in the field of carbohydrate chemistry. The company's first product, generic fondaparinux, is planned for launch in 2009. In parallel, the company has used its chemistry expertise to build a drug discovery engine called VAST - Versatile Assembly on Stable Templates. Additionally, Alchemia has acquired a drug delivery platform technology called HyACT - a novel formulation of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) with a chemotherapy agent, resulting in enhanced delivery of the active agent to the tumour site, resulting in improved efficacy and reduction in unwanted side effects.
